Suzanne Lundin | President

Suzanne Lundin’s expertise is in strategic planning, organizational development and major gifts fundraising. Ms. Lundin has broad experience in foundation and corporate philanthropy, community relations and the nonprofit sector. Holding executive positions in both private sector grantmaking and nonprofit agency management, she has facilitated public-private partnerships to advance the missions of educational, civic and community-based organizations.
Ms. Lundin graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, received a master’s degree in Urban Affairs from Occidental College, and completed the postgraduate Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs.

Ricardo Favela | Board Member

Ricardo Favela is a parent of three children attending FUESD schools. Ricardo was born in Fallbrook and attended Potter Junior High and Fallbrook High School before receiving his degree in Visual and Performing Arts from CSU San Marcos. For 11 years, he has been serving on the County Service Area 81 committee which maintains local county parks in Fallbrook and Rainbow.

Susan Liebes | Vice President

Susan has served on the FUESD Board since 2018. She is the parent of a FUESD student and an alumni, a PTSA board member, and volunteer elementary art teacher. She joined the FUESD Board as another way to serve the students of our District.

Susan has a Bachelors of Science in Forestry & Wildlife from Virginia Tech, and an Associates Degree in Business Administration from San Juan College, where she focused on grant writing. As a community volunteer, Susan uses her background in biology and fundraising to benefit the Fallbrook Land Conservancy and can often be found on a trail with her family.

JoAnn Lopez | Clerk

Mrs. JoAnn Lopez worked for nearly 30 years in the education field. She graduated from San Diego State with a Bachelor’s degree in Administration and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree from California State University Northridge. She began her teaching career with the Vista Unified School District serving as a high school teacher, assistant principal and principal. She was instrumental in building the therapeutic aquatic program in VUSD at the Mary Lou Clack Center. Mrs. Lopez continues her work with the Clack Center as the president of the foundation serving disabled youth in North County. Mrs. Lopez has served on the board of the Vista Education Foundation for over 12 years. This foundation has raised over $100,000.00 to give back to Vista schools in the areas of Arts, Technology and Scholarships.

Mrs. Lopez also worked in the medical field for over 15 years in the profession of Recreation Therapy. She continues to serve as the President of the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification. Mrs. Lopez is delighted to now serve as a member of the Fallbrook Union Elementary School Board.

Caron Lieber | Member

Caron Lieber was a Vice President for Sunrise Company in Palm Desert for eight years before moving to Fallbrook in 1988 and entering the field of education. She began her career in public education as a substitute teacher with the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) and as a part-time Adult ESL teacher for Vista Adult School. These jobs gave her the flexibility to be home with her two young children. During this time, she served on Fallbrook Street School’s Site Council and later became the Adult Education instructor for FUESD district.

She received her bachelor’s in Communication from USC, her Clear Designated Subjects Adult Education Credential and CLAD certificate from UCSD. After her kids finished college, she returned to school to get her master’s degree in Education and Educational Administration from Concordia University. Currently, Caron is the Manager for the San Diego Community College District ‘s (SDCCD) Contract Education and is an adjunct ESL and Citizenship teacher at Palomar College and SDCCD. She has been a board member since 2018.
