We are proud to honor a man that truly changed the world and positively impacted the lives of millions: César Chávez.
Chávez’s legacy as civil rights leader, champion for the Latino community, and founder of the United Farm Workers of America reminds us of our responsibility to advocate for others and our duty to advance the rights and wellbeing of all those around us. Chávez taught us: “Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and our own.”
This value resonates within our schools more today than ever. As we seek to teach the leaders of tomorrow, we must first teach that true leadership begins and ends with caring and advocating for all people.
We are pleased to share a few videos about the legacy of César Chávez, along with books relating to the need for equality and obstacles overcome by the Latino community. We hope you enjoy these videos and free books as a family and take a moment this week to honor Chávez and the great values he devoted his life to.
