FUESD Parents and Guardians,
With the death of George Floyd and the emotionally-charged events and protests happening throughout our great nation, it is clear our country is in pain. With no time to heal or regroup from the still present threat and unthinkable tragedy COVID-19, our communities have been hurled into a time of pain, a time of anger, and a time of unrest. As our country witnessed this senseless killing, we have been reminded of the real presence of racism in its various forms in our country.
All of us at FUESD first want to acknowledge the pain that many of our students, families, teachers, and staff are experiencing in the wake of these most recent tragic acts of violence. We want you to know that you are not alone and that you are loved.
We believe our support for the children and families of Fallbrook goes beyond just the classroom. With that value in place, we want to be a resource as you and your children process the events unfolding before us. To help, we have created this webpage devoted to resourcing you with tools and education on how to navigate the subjects of racism, hatred, and inequality with your children. We hope these resources will help you open up positive discussions with not just your children, but with community members, family, and friends.
This truly is an opportunity to educate ourselves, to become allies to those who desperately need one, and seek first to understand the hardships of those around us.
As one community, we must stand together and as one community, we can make a difference.
