The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Governing Board held its regular meeting on June 4, 2026, recognizing student achievement, reviewing district priorities, and hearing important presentations that will help guide the district’s continued success in the coming school year.
Celebrating Potter Jr. High’s Championship Team
One of the evening’s highlights was the recognition of the Potter Jr. High School JV Girls Basketball Team for their outstanding championship season. The team was honored by the Board of Trustees for capturing the league championship and completing an undefeated season, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, dedication, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Board members, Superintendent Monika Hazel, families, coaches, and staff celebrated the student-athletes for representing Potter Jr. High and the Fallbrook community with pride both on and off the court. Their achievement reflects the district’s commitment to supporting students through academics, athletics, and leadership opportunities.
Students Help Present the 2026-2027 LCAP Update
The Board also received an important presentation on the District’s 2026-2027 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Federal Addendum. The presentation was led by Tavga Bustani, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, and featured students from across the district who shared their experiences and perspectives regarding their educational journey at FUESD.
The student voices provided valuable insight into the programs, services, and supports that have positively impacted their learning and school experience. Their participation highlighted FUESD’s commitment to ensuring students remain at the center of decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
The LCAP serves as the district’s roadmap for improving student outcomes and outlines goals, actions, and investments focused on academic achievement, student engagement, and school climate. Hearing directly from students offered a meaningful reminder of the impact these initiatives have across FUESD schools.
Looking Ahead
In addition to recognizing student accomplishments and reviewing the LCAP update, the Board conducted a public hearing on the proposed 2026-2027 budget and approved several items supporting educational programs, professional learning, student services, and district operations.
As the school year comes to a close, the June Board meeting reflected the district’s continued focus on student success, community engagement, and strategic planning for the future.

La Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar Primario de Fallbrook (FUESD) celebró su reunión regular el 4 de junio de 2026, reconociendo los logros estudiantiles, revisando prioridades del distrito y recibiendo importantes presentaciones que ayudarán a guiar el éxito continuo de FUESD durante el próximo año escolar.
Reconocimiento al Equipo Campeón de Potter Jr. High
Uno de los momentos más destacados de la noche fue el reconocimiento al equipo femenino de baloncesto JV de Potter Jr. High School por su extraordinaria temporada de campeonato. La Mesa Directiva honró al equipo por conquistar el campeonato de la liga y completar una temporada invicta, demostrando un excepcional trabajo en equipo, dedicación, perseverancia y espíritu deportivo.
Los miembros de la Mesa Directiva, la Superintendente Monika Hazel, las familias, entrenadores y personal celebraron a las estudiantes-atletas por representar con orgullo a Potter Jr. High y a la comunidad de Fallbrook tanto dentro como fuera de la cancha. Este logro refleja el compromiso del distrito de apoyar a los estudiantes a través de oportunidades académicas, deportivas y de liderazgo.
Estudiantes Participan en la Presentación de la Actualización del LCAP 2026-2027
La Mesa Directiva también recibió una importante presentación sobre la Actualización del Plan de Control Local y Rendición de Cuentas (LCAP) 2026-2027 y el Complemento Federal del LCAP. La presentación fue dirigida por Tavga Bustani, Asistente de la Superintendente de Servicios Educativos, y contó con la participación de estudiantes de distintas escuelas del distrito, quienes compartieron sus experiencias y perspectivas sobre su trayectoria educativa en FUESD.
Las voces de los estudiantes brindaron información valiosa sobre los programas, servicios y apoyos que han contribuido positivamente a su aprendizaje y experiencia escolar. Su participación destacó el compromiso de FUESD de mantener a los estudiantes en el centro de la toma de decisiones y de los esfuerzos de mejora continua.
El LCAP funciona como la hoja de ruta del distrito para mejorar los resultados estudiantiles y establece metas, acciones e inversiones enfocadas en el rendimiento académico, la participación estudiantil y el clima escolar. Escuchar directamente a los estudiantes fue un recordatorio significativo del impacto que estas iniciativas tienen en todas las escuelas de FUESD.
Mirando Hacia el Futuro
Además de reconocer los logros estudiantiles y revisar la actualización del LCAP, la Mesa Directiva llevó a cabo una audiencia pública sobre el presupuesto propuesto para 2026-2027 y aprobó varios puntos destinados a fortalecer los programas educativos, el desarrollo profesional, los servicios estudiantiles y las operaciones del distrito.
Mientras el año escolar llega a su fin, la reunión de junio reflejó el enfoque continuo de FUESD en el éxito estudiantil, la participación de la comunidad y la planificación estratégica para el futuro.
