IMPORTANT PARENT UPDATE
This week, you may have seen the Fallbrook Village News post an article regarding FUESD’s reopening plans, which was unfortunately inaccurate. The article claimed schools are not allowed to move forward with phased reopening plans due to San Diego County moving to the purple tier of the state’s COVID-19 color tier system. This information is false, and we apologize if this has led to any confusion. The online version of the article has already been corrected, but the inaccurate print version is currently being distributed. The Fallbrook Village News will be printing a retraction in their next edition.
We again want to clarify, our Phase 2 reopening plan for TK, K, and 1st-grade students is moving forward, as planned, on November 30th. We are steadfast in our belief that these early years are critical to our students’ long-term academic success, which is why these grades will be moving to in-classroom instruction four days a week.
Thanks to FUESD’s extensive safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are confident that FUESD schools are and will continue to be among the safest places for our students and staff.
FUESD will continue to monitor COVID-19 data with the hope and intention of bringing back additional grades and students to more in person instruction in the coming weeks.
As always, thank you for your support and understanding.
Dr. Candace Singh
Superintendent of Schools
