The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees held its September 11 meeting, beginning with a moving student presentation by inFUESD students from William H. Frazier Elementary and La Paloma Elementary. In honor of Patriots Day, students led a heartfelt sing-along of “America the Beautiful,” setting a tone of unity and pride that resonated throughout the evening.
Students then shared updates from across the district, showcasing the many exciting programs and activities happening at every school. Highlights included the Fallbrook STEM Academy Bobcat Spirit Squad, La Paloma’s Club Rush, Live Oak’s 6th Grade Assistant Program, and Maie Ellis Elementary’s Attendance Awareness Week. Mary Fay Pendleton hosted a well-attended Back-to-School Night, while student leaders at San Onofre are mentoring TK students through reading and activities. At William H. Frazier, students are enjoying “The Wheel,” rotating weekly through enriching classes such as Art, STEAM, Library, and Media.
Superintendent Monika Hazel also welcomed three new administrators to the FUESD team: Sara Soto, Assistant Principal at Potter Junior High; Allison Gunzelman, Assistant Principal at San Onofre School; and Michael Goodbody, Principal on Special Assignment, who will focus on advancing math innovation and building future career technical pathways for students.
Board President Mary McBride presented the Attendance Award for August to Mary Fay Pendleton Elementary, which achieved an impressive 97.1% average daily attendance. The meeting also celebrated literacy, honoring the district’s top summer readers, cheered on by proud families and staff.
The evening was another reminder of how FUESD’s Board and leadership continue to spotlight student success, foster community, and celebrate the achievements across the district. The community looks forward to more recognitions and celebrations at the October meeting.
La Junta de Síndicos del Distrito Escolar Primario de Fallbrook celebró su reunión del 11 de septiembre con una emotiva presentación estudiantil a cargo de alumnos de William H. Frazier Elementary y La Paloma Elementary.
