The Potter Jr. High School JV Girls Basketball Team has once again cemented its place among the top teams in the Vista Boys & Girls Club League, capturing the 2026 JV Championship and completing another undefeated season.
On May 20, the Lady Braves faced off against Vista Magnet Middle School in a highly competitive championship game. Despite the challenging conditions and extreme heat inside the Vista Magnet gymnasium, Potter’s student-athletes remained focused and determined. After a hard-fought battle, the Lady Braves secured a 30-26 victory to bring home the championship trophy and gold medals.
The accomplishment marks the team’s second undefeated season and the third girls basketball championship in Potter Jr. High history. Throughout the season, the Lady Braves demonstrated exceptional teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and dedication, establishing themselves as one of the premier programs in the league.
The team’s success was recently celebrated at a Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Board of Education meeting, where players were recognized for their outstanding season. Superintendent Monika Hazel, Board President Mary McBride, and members of the FUESD Governing Board honored the student-athletes for their hard work, commitment, and championship achievement.
A special recognition also goes to Coach Mike Loubert, whose leadership, mentorship, and dedication helped guide the Lady Braves through another remarkable season. Through countless hours of practice and encouragement, Coach Loubert has fostered a culture of excellence that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and personal growth both on and off the court.
“We are incredibly proud of our girls basketball program and all that these student-athletes accomplished this season,” said Principal Dr. Alejandro Gonzalez. “To finish the year undefeated and earn another championship is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to one another. These young women represented Potter Jr. High with character, sportsmanship, and pride every time they stepped onto the court. I would also like to recognize Coach Mike Loubert for his outstanding leadership and dedication to our students. Coach Loubert has helped build a culture of excellence that extends beyond wins and championships. He teaches our athletes the importance of teamwork, perseverance, accountability, and believing in themselves. This championship reflects the collective effort of our players, coaches, families, and school community, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments. We look forward to seeing what these talented young women achieve in the future.”
Potter’s success extended beyond the JV squad. The school’s 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team also enjoyed an outstanding season, advancing to the championship game and representing the Braves with pride, determination, and heart. While the final result was not what they had hoped for, their effort and perseverance throughout the season exemplified the values of Potter athletics.
Together, both teams showcased the dedication, resilience, and competitive spirit that make Potter Jr. High a source of pride for the entire community.

El equipo JV de baloncesto femenil de Potter Jr. High School ha vuelto a demostrar por qué es uno de los programas más destacados de la Liga del Boys & Girls Club de Vista, conquistando el Campeonato JV 2026 y completando otra temporada invicta.
El pasado 20 de mayo, las Lady Braves se enfrentaron a Vista Magnet Middle School en un emocionante y reñido partido por el campeonato. A pesar de las difíciles condiciones y el intenso calor dentro del gimnasio de Vista Magnet, las estudiantes-atletas de Potter mantuvieron la concentración y la determinación durante todo el encuentro. Tras una intensa batalla en la cancha, las Lady Braves lograron una victoria por 30-26 para llevarse el campeonato y las medallas de oro.
Este logro representa la segunda temporada invicta del programa y el tercer campeonato de baloncesto femenil en la historia de Potter Jr. High. A lo largo de la temporada, las Lady Braves demostraron un extraordinario trabajo en equipo, deportividad, perseverancia y compromiso, consolidándose como uno de los mejores equipos de la liga.
El éxito del equipo fue celebrado recientemente durante una reunión de la Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar Primario de Fallbrook (FUESD), donde las jugadoras fueron reconocidas por su destacada temporada. La Superintendente Monika Hazel, la Presidenta de la Mesa Directiva Mary McBride y los miembros de la Junta de Educación felicitaron a las estudiantes-atletas por su esfuerzo, dedicación y logro deportivo.
Un reconocimiento especial también para el entrenador Mike Loubert, cuyo liderazgo, mentoría y dedicación ayudaron a guiar a las Lady Braves hacia otra temporada extraordinaria. A través de incontables horas de práctica y motivación, el entrenador Loubert ha fomentado una cultura de excelencia basada en el trabajo en equipo, la responsabilidad y el crecimiento personal dentro y fuera de la cancha.
“Estamos increíblemente orgullosos de nuestro programa de baloncesto femenil y de todo lo que estas estudiantes-atletas lograron esta temporada”, expresó el director Dr. Alejandro Gonzalez. “Terminar el año invictas y ganar otro campeonato es un reflejo de su arduo trabajo, dedicación y compromiso mutuo. Estas jóvenes representaron a Potter Jr. High con carácter, deportividad y orgullo cada vez que pisaron la cancha. También quiero reconocer al entrenador Mike Loubert por su extraordinario liderazgo y dedicación hacia nuestras estudiantes. El entrenador Loubert ha ayudado a construir una cultura de excelencia que va mucho más allá de las victorias y los campeonatos. Enseña a nuestras atletas la importancia del trabajo en equipo, la perseverancia, la responsabilidad y la confianza en sí mismas. Este campeonato refleja el esfuerzo colectivo de nuestras jugadoras, entrenadores, familias y comunidad escolar, y no podríamos estar más orgullosos de sus logros. El éxito de Potter no se limitó al equipo JV. El equipo femenil de 8.º grado también disfrutó de una temporada sobresaliente, avanzando hasta el partido de campeonato y representando a los Braves con orgullo, determinación y corazón. Aunque el resultado final no fue el esperado, su esfuerzo y perseverancia durante toda la temporada reflejaron los valores del programa deportivo de Potter.
