Potter Braves Take the Next Step at 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

The Fallbrook community came together in a remarkable show of support as Potter Jr. High School celebrated the promotion of more than 400 eighth-grade students during its annual 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony.

As the only junior high school in Fallbrook, Potter Jr. High holds a unique place in the educational journey of local students. For many, the halls of Potter represent an important chapter between elementary school and high school, where students grow academically, socially, and personally while preparing for the opportunities that lie ahead.

This year’s promotion ceremony drew a record turnout of parents, family members, friends, staff, and community supporters who gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026. The event honored students for successfully completing their K-8 educational journey and recognized the hard work, perseverance, and dedication they demonstrated throughout their years in the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District.

Throughout the ceremony, students were applauded for their academic achievements, leadership, character, and growth. The excitement and pride shared by families and staff reflected the significance of this milestone as students prepare to begin their high school careers.

“This promotion ceremony is a celebration of the incredible growth we have witnessed in each and every one of our students,” said Potter Jr. High Principal Dr. Alejandro Gonzalez. “Over the past two years, our eighth graders have achieved tremendous academic gains while developing the skills, confidence, and character needed for success in high school and beyond. I am incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see what the future holds for them.”

Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Superintendent Monika Hazel also shared her congratulations and gratitude during the celebration.

“Today we celebrate the success of our students and the bright futures that await them,” said Superintendent Hazel. “We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful for the families, staff, and community members who support them every day. Student success is truly a team effort, and the partnership between our schools, families, and community plays a vital role in helping every child reach their full potential.”

The event served as a powerful reminder of the strong connections that exist throughout the Fallbrook community and the collective commitment to helping students succeed. The overwhelming support shown by families filled the ceremony with pride, joy, and excitement for the future.

The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District extends its heartfelt thanks to all the parents, families, and community members who showed up not only on this special day, but throughout the school year to encourage and support students. Congratulations to the Potter Jr. High Class of 2026 on this outstanding accomplishment. We wish each student continued success in high school, future careers, and all the opportunities that await them.

FUESD also looks forward with excitement to welcoming a new class of Future Braves this August, while encouraging the incoming eighth-grade class as they begin their final and memorable year of K-8 education at Potter Jr. High.
