During the final week of July, Potter Jr. High opened its doors to welcome students and families ahead of the new school year. Principal Dr. Alex Gonzalez and the Potter Jr. High team hosted a two-day Registration Fair, first welcoming returning eighth-grade students and their families, followed by incoming seventh-grade students preparing to begin their junior high experience.
The event provided an opportunity for staff to personally greet families, answer questions, and help ease some of the excitement and nervousness that can come with the transition to junior high. Understanding that families take time out of their busy schedules to attend registration, the Potter team worked intentionally to make the process as efficient, organized, and welcoming as possible.
Throughout the two-day event, families were met with a positive and supportive environment designed to help students feel confident and prepared for the year ahead. Following the Registration Fair, staff also took time to reflect on the experience and identify opportunities to make next year’s event even better.
Potter Jr. High looks forward to welcoming students back to campus and beginning another great school year together.
Durante la última semana de julio, Potter Jr. High abrió sus puertas para dar la bienvenida a los estudiantes y sus familias antes del inicio del nuevo año escolar. El director, Dr. Alex Gonzalez, junto con el equipo de Potter Jr. High, organizó una Feria de Inscripción de dos días, recibiendo primero a los estudiantes de octavo grado que regresan y a sus familias, y posteriormente a los estudiantes de séptimo grado que se preparan para comenzar su experiencia en la escuela secundaria.
El evento brindó al personal la oportunidad de saludar personalmente a las familias, responder preguntas y ayudar a aliviar parte de la emoción y los nervios que pueden acompañar la transición a la escuela secundaria. Reconociendo que las familias hacen un espacio en sus ocupadas agendas para asistir a la inscripción, el equipo de Potter trabajó de manera intencional para que el proceso fuera lo más eficiente, organizado y acogedor posible.
Durante los dos días del evento, las familias fueron recibidas en un ambiente positivo y de apoyo, diseñado para ayudar a los estudiantes a sentirse seguros y preparados para el nuevo año escolar. Después de la Feria de Inscripción, el personal también se tomó el tiempo para reflexionar sobre la experiencia e identificar oportunidades para mejorar aún más el evento del próximo año.
Potter Jr. High espera con entusiasmo dar la bienvenida a los estudiantes de regreso al plantel y comenzar juntos otro excelente año escolar.
