Summer should be a time for fun, play, and exploration—not a time when kids worry about where their next meal will come from. That’s why the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) is proud to continue its Free Summer Meals Program, ensuring that all children and teens 18 years and younger have access to nutritious meals throughout the summer months—no registration or application required.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of FUESD Child Nutrition Services, free meals are being served at multiple convenient locations across the district, including schools like Live Oak Elementary, Mary Fay Pendleton, and Potter Jr. High, as well as community hubs like the Boys & Girls Club. This initiative runs from early June through August 1, with both breakfast and lunch options provided depending on the site. Adults can even purchase meals affordably to enjoy alongside their children.
This program is more than just food—it’s about promoting well-being, consistency, and dignity during summer break. As we highlighted in our recent nutrition article, access to balanced meals plays a vital role in supporting student health, academic readiness, and overall development. The summer meal offerings align with FUESD’s ongoing commitment to nutritious, whole-food choices that fuel active bodies and growing minds.
Whether your family is looking for a healthy bite after morning activities or a midday meal while out in the community, FUESD’s Free Summer Meals Program makes it easy to stay nourished, connected, and supported.
