Fallbrook STEM Academy (FSA) this last week hosted an exciting “Innovation Day” event, a celebration of student excellence in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The event provided a platform for students to exhibit their ingenuity, critical thinking, and passion for STEM, while welcoming parents to witness their remarkable achievements.
Innovation Day encompassed first through sixth grade classes at FSA, reinforcing the school’s commitment to fostering innovation and a lifelong love for STEM learning. The event was a testament to the school’s dedication to equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in an ever-evolving world.
Principal Ana Arias expressed her delight at the student’s accomplishments, stating, “Innovation Day would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our exceptional FSA teachers and staff. Their hard work has allowed us to witness the outstanding creativity and ingenuity of our students, and it’s an honor to be a part of this inspiring STEM journey with them.”
Superintendent Monika Hazel also praised the event, emphasizing its significance in promoting innovation and critical thinking. She commented, “Innovation Day at FSA vividly showcases our district’s approach to 21st-century learning and underscores the commitment of both our students and educators to embracing the future. I could not be more proud of the amazing projects and presentations we witnessed today.”
Innovation Days centered around students’ STEM projects, where they presented their findings, discoveries, and insights. The event showcased various projects, including units on photosynthesis and horticulture, where students explored the wonders of plant growth and sustainability. Students also delved into the world of entrepreneurship by starting a fictitious lemonade business, learning valuable lessons about cost versus profit.
Innovation Days at Fallbrook STEM Academy is a testament to the incredible achievements of young innovators and their potential to make a positive impact on the world.
