The meeting was called to order by Acting President Mary McBride at 5:00 p.m.

III. COMMUNITY RELATIONS

1. Hearing Session

Ms. Sarah Bishop thanked the Board for their time and for always being available to listen to concerns and comments. Ms. Bishop spoke to the Board as a parent, and highlighted all the positive things happening at William H. Frazier.

Mr. Kenneth Ostroske, FETA Representative, discussed the current state of labor negotiations.

Ms. Leticia Maldonado/Stamos spoke about the Fallbrook-A-Leer program and about getting more people involved. Ms. Maldonado/Stamos addressed the Board regarding the organizational meeting and elections and voiced her support of Mr. Ricardo Favela as Governing Board President.

3. Reports from the Board

Dr. Constance Fish attended the 2023 CSBA Annual Education Conference.

Ms. Diane Sebalj thanked all veterans and was happy to see all the parades to commemorate veterans.

Ms. Suzanne Lundin also attended the 2023 CSBA Annual Education Conference with Superintendent Monika Hazel. Ms. Lundin also attended the Maie Ellis speech and debate.

Ms. Mary McBride attended the Awards Ceremony at Potter Jr. High, describing it as beautifully decorated and a wonderful experience.

Mr. Ricardo Favela reported on his attendance at the Awards Ceremony at Potter Jr. High, emphasizing its success in recognizing students. He also participated in the Maie Ellis Leadership Awards, a student-led event, and praised it as a spectacular occasion.

4. Report from the Superintendent

Superintendent Monika Hazel congratulated Mr. Favela for his new role as Governing Board President. Ms. Hazel publicly thanked Trustee Mary McBride for stepping into Acting Board President when our former President stepped down.

Ms. Hazel attended the 248th Marine Corps birthday in Camp Pendleton. She also attended the 2023 CSBA Annual Education Conference.

Frazier Elementary.
