The smell of sizzling burgers, the sound of laughter, and a park filled with smiles—nothing says “welcome back” quite like the Rotary Club of Fallbrook’s annual Welcome Back Staff BBQ! On Thursday, Aug. 7, Ingold Sports Park turned into a festive gathering place as the Rotary proudly celebrated the dedicated staff of the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD).
Rotary members arrived early to transform the park, setting up tables, chairs, and cheerful décor before serving up a classic spread of juicy hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chips, and cookies. With nearly 200 FUESD staff members in attendance, the afternoon was filled with community spirit, good food, and even better company.
This tradition has become a beloved way to kick off the school year, thanks to the Rotary Club and local partners—including Grocery Outlet, Grand Tradition, Foundation for Senior Care, Ingold Park, and Fallbrook Food Pantry—who generously pitched in to make the celebration possible.
“Our goal is simple,” said Kimberly Huesing, president of the Rotary Club of Fallbrook. “We want FUESD staff to know they are valued, celebrated, and supported as they begin another year of providing excellent educational experiences for students.”
It’s clear that goal was achieved. From handshakes and hugs to laughter around the picnic tables, the event was a heartfelt reminder of how much the community treasures its educators and support staff.
“The Rotary Club of Fallbrook extends heartfelt thanks to all who made this event possible and wishes the entire FUESD team a joyful and successful school year,” Huesing added.
With bellies full and spirits lifted, FUESD staff left Ingold Park not just ready for a new school year—but reminded that they are truly supported by their community.
“Our goal is simple,” dijo Kimberly Huesing, presidenta del Club Rotario de Fallbrook. “We want FUESD staff to know they are valued, celebrated, and supported as they begin another year of providing excellent educational experiences for students.”
“The Rotary Club of Fallbrook extends heartfelt thanks to all who made this event possible and wishes the entire FUESD team a joyful and successful school year,” añadió Huesing.
