In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) Child Nutrition Services has embarked on a mission to spread love and friendship throughout school lunch lines. With a creative and festive approach, the department introduced special Valentine’s inspired meals that captured the hearts of students across the district.

Featuring heart-shaped chicken nuggets accompanied by freshly baked sugar cookies, vibrant berries, crunchy veggies, and strawberry milk, the menu was not only nutritious but also infused with love and creativity.

What made these meals even more special was the emphasis on locally sourced ingredients from farms in De Luz, Ramona, and Escondido. By partnering with local farmers, FUESD Child Nutrition Services not only supported the community but also ensured that students enjoyed fresh, high-quality produce in their meals.

Commenting on the initiative, Seth Trench, Director of Communications, stated, “We believe in the power of food not only to nourish the body but also to uplift the spirit. Seeing the smiles on our students’ faces as they enjoyed these special treats reaffirmed the importance of creating meaningful connections through healthy eating. We are so proud of our CNS department and their work to support the health and wellness of our students.”

The response from students, parents, and school staff was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. These Valentine’s themed meals not only provided nourishment but also served as a reminder of the importance of spreading kindness and love within the school community.

As FUESD Child Nutrition Services continues to innovate and inspire through its culinary offerings, it remains committed to promoting healthy eating habits and creating inclusive dining environments where every student feels valued and appreciated.
