FUESD Parent Letter

As most of you are now aware, another senseless school shooting occurred, this time in Florida. While we are not aware of any specific threats here, Fallbrook is a small, closely knit community and when tragedy strikes it also impacts our schools, our staff, and our students. The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District’s highest priority is the safety of students and staff.

San Diego County School Threats

Today, the San Diego County Office of Education informed our district about a general threat made via email against school districts in at least 46 states. In San Diego County, a coordinated law enforcement effort is underway to investigate the threat.

Updated Interdistrict Attendance Board of Education Policy

The Board of Education recognizes students generally must attend school in the district where their parents/guardians reside, although the Board of Education recognizes justifiable reasons for occasional interdistrict transfers. Upon request, the Superintendent or designee may accept students from another district and may also allow students who live within the district to attend out-of-district schools, on a case-by-case basis.

With the goal of heightening their interest in scientific fields FUESD’s vision is to inspire curiosity and interest among girls to help generate long-term interest in STEM by encouraging creative thinking and innovation and empowering them to dream big, explore their interests, and passionately pursue non-traditional careers and the opportunities that await them.

ALL FUESD SCHOOLS RE-OPEN TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2017

All Fallbrook Union Elementary Schools will re-open tomorrow, December 12, 2017 following the schools' regular schedule for arrival and dismissal. District leaders continue to closely monitor Lilac Fire containment, road closures, and access to our schools. After consulting with Emergency Services and local law enforcement, we are now confident students and staff can all safely return to school tomorrow Tuesday December 12th, 2017, thank you.
